Over 100 kilometres long with clean parks and beaches, it’s no wonder Okanagan Lake is ideal for many water sports. You can parasail, rent a sports boat, water-ski, wakeboard or wake surf, kayak, fish, take a cruise or just swim in the lake. Drive the countryside and enjoy the spectacular lake views.
The Okanagan Valley receives international recognition showcasing some of the finest wine in the world. La Casa Resort is your ideal base camp, with almost a hundred wineries nearby in the Okanagan Valley. Visit large-scale estate wineries or small family owned vineyards that are lesser-known gems. Learn about the art of wine making on a tour, sample a variety of wines in the tasting rooms, treat yourself to lunch on a terrace or attend a seasonal wine event.
Mission Hill, Quails’ Gate, Mt. Boucherie, Little Straw, Volcanic Hills, Beaumont and Rollingdale are just a few on the west side of Okanagan Lake minutes away from La Casa Resort.
The Okanagan Valley has numerous championship golf courses and par 3 executive style courses to suit every skill level and budget.
Predator Ridge, Harvest, The Rise, Gallagher’s Canyon, Quail and The Bear are some of the Okanagan’s championship courses within an hour’s drive from La Casa.
Looking to stay a little closer? Spallumcheen is a lush 18-hole golf course just 20 minutes away or Lake Okanagan Resort’s scenic par 3 course is just 15 minutes away. Shannon Lake Golf Course and Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna are also close, reasonably priced and both have pro shops, lessons and rentals.
Biking and Hiking
On days when you’ve had enough fun in the sun, explore the acres of forest behind La Casa Resort’s adjoining crown land. Walk, ride your mountain bike, tour by horseback or take off on your ATV. The vast trail system connects to Bear Creek Provincial Park.
The historical Kettle Valley Railway bed in Myra Canyon is a great hike or ride for cyclists of all abilities while Knox Mountain in Kelowna boasts gorgeous city views and long lake views. Choose your path for an easy stroll or a more challenging climb.
Skiing and Boarding
The Okanagan is renowned for its deep, dry champagne powder snow with a choice of mountains nearby to challenge and delight every level of skier or boarder. There are four ski resorts within a short drive of La Casa Resort including Big White, Crystal Mountain, Silver Star and Apex.
With two fabulous restaurants on resort and the convenience of your own cottage kitchen, you may never want to leave the resort. Should you choose to have a night out on the town, you have an abundance of restaurants, pubs, lounges and nightclubs to choose from.
Kelowna, West Kelowna and Vernon offer casinos, bowling alleys, go-cart tracks, waterslides and movie theatres to keep you busy. The nearby town of Enderby even has a 60’s style summer Drive-In Movie Theatre where you park your vehicle, tune into the theatre’s station and transport yourself back in time.
One of the luxuries of La Casa Lakeside Cottage Resort is the convenience of La Cantina General Store centrally located on the resort, just steps from your cottage.
For more serious shopping, there are two large malls in Kelowna and Vernon as well as hundreds of specialty stores and boutiques.
